Veterinary Technology
The Veterinary Technology Program at the Platt School of Medical Sciences is specifically designed to provide in-depth study and training necessary to gain entry-level employment in animal health care.

Program Details
These tasks generally include: general animal care; surgical assistance; medical treatments; laboratory tests, x-rays; anesthesia;
Vet Techs typically work closely with Veterinarians in animal clinical health-care settings such as small or large animal hospitals or clinics and nursing and critical care radiology;
As Vet Techs advance in their careers, many move to management and supervisory positions in animal health-care facilities and service companies.
Upon completion of Â鶹¸Ø½»â€™s Veterinary Technology program, graduates of the program are awarded a Veterinary Technology Associate of Science degree.
With AVMA accreditation graduates will be eligible to sit for the Veterinary Technology National Examination (VTNE).
Veterinary Technology Passage Rates Statement
The College has received AVMA accreditation for its program. With AVMA approval, graduates will be eligible to sit for the California Veterinary Medical Board Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Examination.

Clinical Externship
- An integral part of the student’s education is the clinical externship. Â鶹¸Ø½» is excited to partner with one of the nation’s largest provider of animal health services to offer students externship opportunities at their facilities.
Except as expressly provided in California Education Code Section 94898, Â鶹¸Ø½» reserves the right to modify policies, course schedules, curricula or courses within reason due to exigent circumstances, program upgrades and/or content changes, and to cancel programs of study, modes of delivery, upcoming start dates or individual courses as it deems necessary. If a course or program is canceled, the school may schedule course completion at a later date or refund all monies paid for the canceled course or program if the student does not wish to continue with the program at the later date.
